Murat Esmer | Soul of the Mountain
Soul of the Mountain, a reflective song released Nov 1, 2024, inspired by resilient peaks, childhood plateau memories, and the brave spirit of mountaineers; a tribute to perseverance, peace, and love.
Hey — I’m Murat, the voice behind The Sound Vault. I just published my latest (but old) track on Bandcamp and wanted to share the news here on Substack. If it moves you, please give it a listen and support by sharing.
I released Soul of the Mountain on November 1, 2024 — my first new song after years of musical silence. The idea came from watching mountains endure storm after storm: wind, snow, long winters — yet they stand, gather light, and keep shining.
I grew up drawn to high places. As a child I spent long stretches on plateaus, surrounded by friends and the rough, exhilarating beauty of those landscapes. Nights were full of fireflies and galaxy-bright stars; days smelled of damp earth and pine. In those moments I felt a freedom only the forest could give. I’ve always believed mountains, like ancient trees, carry spirits — quiet, patient, and wise.
Mountaineers shaped the song as much as the peaks. I thought of those who chase summits, and of the ones who paid the ultimate price in unforgiving weather. I carry deep respect for them; their courage lives in the rocks and winds. They remind me to stay true, to keep fighting — for our own lives, for others, for peace and love. Their utopias — fragile, hopeful, beautiful — are a compass I try never to lose.
This is the first song I’ve shared on this blog. If you want to hear earlier work, visit my Bandcamp page — you might find something that touches you.
