Thank you for bringing this to my attention — I’ve added *Anadolu Pop* to my playlist. I’ve recently started exploring the wealth of progressive and psychedelic rock that emerged across Europe and South America, and this fits perfectly into that journey. Your write-up opened another door into how deeply those regional scenes reinterpreted the genre rather than imitating it.
Hey Howard. It is fascinating to hear these lovely comments. I'm born, grown in Anatolia, and these lands are heaven for world music. I definitely recomment this documentary: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1541613/
Moğollar is one of the most skilled and versatile bands in Turkey, who they are still active despite their ages. If you need any help about the music within these lands, kindly message to me. Thanks for your lovely comment.
It's so cool to see this here. It's a fabulous record and one of a handful of Turkish psych CDs in my collection, which also includes Bunalum, Edip Akbayram, 3 Hür-El, a couple Erkin Koray albums a a few Turkish comps. This is my most played of the lot and never fails to transport me to another time and place, straddling the Bosphorus - one foot in Europe and one in the exotic East.
